Cheaper in April than in August.
A seasonal tune-up catches the weak capacitor, the dirty coil, and the low refrigerant charge before they turn into a no-cooling call on the hottest day of the year.
What a tune-up actually checks
Coil cleaning
Dust and debris on the coils force the system to work harder and shorten its life — one of the most common efficiency killers in Yuma.
Refrigerant check
Confirms the system is charged correctly. Low refrigerant means longer run times and less cooling.
Electrical & capacitor inspection
Capacitors weaken with heat cycling and are one of the top causes of sudden no-cool failures.
Airflow & filter check
Restricted airflow strains the compressor and lets rooms run hot even when the system is otherwise healthy.
Thermostat & control test
Confirms the system responds correctly and isn't short-cycling.
Condensate drain check
A clogged drain line is a common cause of water damage near indoor units.
Why maintenance matters more in Yuma
Systems here run harder, longer, and more months out of the year than almost anywhere else in the country. That accelerates wear on exactly the parts a tune-up inspects. Skipping maintenance doesn't just risk a summer breakdown — it can also void manufacturer warranty coverage that requires documented annual service.
Best time to book
Spring (Feb–Apr)
Catch weak parts before peak summer load — and before our schedule fills with no-cooling emergencies.
Fall (Oct–Nov)
A second check after the hardest months of the year, before you rely on heat.
Before you travel
Startup and shutdown service for winter-vacant homes — see our seasonal resident info.

Our maintenance membership schedules your spring and fall tune-ups for you and moves you to the front of the line during peak-heat emergencies. See membership details and pricing.

A single tune-up is quoted on the phone before we schedule your visit. Maintenance members pay a set annual or per-visit rate covered in the membership plan.

How long does a tune-up take?
Typically 45–75 minutes per system, depending on access and condition.
Will maintenance void my warranty if I skip it?
The reverse — many manufacturer warranties require documented annual maintenance to stay valid. Skipping it can void coverage on a failed part.
Is a tune-up worth it if my AC seems fine?
Yes — most failures we see start as a small issue (weak capacitor, low refrigerant, dirty coil) that runs fine right up until the day it doesn't.
Do you service both AC and heating systems?
Yes, including heat pumps. See our heat pump page for combined heating and cooling systems.
