Questions

Before you call.

Answers to what we're asked most. If yours isn't here, just call — we'd rather explain it than have you guess.

General & Emergency

How fast can you get here?

Same day for most no-cooling calls in Yuma County. We prioritize by how hot it is inside — households with infants, elderly residents, or medical needs go first. Call early; peak summer books out by mid-morning.

Is there an after-hours fee?

After-hours emergency calls may carry a separate rate from standard business-hours service. We'll quote that before dispatching, so you know the cost before we're on the way.

How do I know if it's really an emergency?

No airflow or power, a burning smell or sparking, active water leaking, or a system that won't turn off or on. If you're not sure, call and describe what you're seeing.

Do you serve renters?

Yes — we work directly with tenants when authorized by the property owner or manager. Landlords and property managers, see our commercial HVAC page.

Pricing & Financing

What does a service call cost?

You get the diagnostic fee on the phone before we come out, and the full repair price before any work starts.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, on qualifying replacements and installs. See our financing page for details, or ask when we quote your job.

Is there a hard credit check?

This varies by lender and program — ask when you apply.

What credit score do I need?

This varies by lender — ask when you apply rather than assuming a specific number.

Can I pay off financing early?

Ask your lender's specific terms — early payoff policy depends on the financing program.

Repair vs. Replacement

Is it worth repairing an older unit?

Depends on the age and the repair cost. Rough guide: if the unit is over twelve years old and the repair is more than a third of a new system's cost, replacement usually wins over five years. See our replacement page for the full comparison.

My AC runs constantly and never fully cools. Is it broken?

Not necessarily. Systems are sized to hold roughly 20° below outdoor temperature, so at 115° outside a healthy unit may only reach the mid-90s at the vent while running continuously. If the gap is much larger than that, something is wrong — call us.

Do you repair all brands?

Yes — our technicians service all major residential and light commercial AC brands and models.

How long does installation take?

Most residential replacements complete in a single day. Complex ductwork or multi-system homes may take longer — we'll tell you upfront.

What size system do I need?

We calculate it from your home's square footage, insulation, window exposure, and ductwork — not a rule of thumb. Oversized systems short-cycle and cool poorly; undersized ones run constantly and still don't keep up.

What happens to my old unit?

We remove and dispose of the old system as part of the installation.

Maintenance & Membership

How long does a tune-up take?

Typically 45–75 minutes per system, depending on access and condition.

Will maintenance void my warranty if I skip it?

The reverse — many manufacturer warranties require documented annual maintenance to stay valid. Skipping it can void coverage on a failed part.

Is a tune-up worth it if my AC seems fine?

Yes — most failures we see start as a small issue (weak capacitor, low refrigerant, dirty coil) that runs fine right up until the day it doesn't.

Do you service both AC and heating systems?

Yes, including heat pumps. See our heat pump page for combined heating and cooling systems.

How much does membership cost?

Pricing depends on system count and type — ask when you call or request service and we'll confirm the number for your home.

Can I cancel my membership?

Ask about plan terms when you sign up — we'll walk you through cancellation policy at that time.

Does membership cover repairs?

No — membership covers your scheduled maintenance visits and gives you a discount on any repairs found necessary.

Service Area & Scheduling

What areas do you serve?

Yuma, Fortuna Foothills, Somerton, San Luis, Wellton, and Winterhaven, CA. See our service area page for details on each city.
